ConstantContact Sells for $1.1Billion

It is now official, ConstantContact is to be acquired by the behemoth of modern web hosts Endurance International for $1.1Billion, after an overwhelming majority of shareholders agreed to the deal earlier today.

The decision was reached at a special meeting of shareholders the, SEC has reported that today, January 21st the stockholders of Constant Contact, Inc. voted to ‘merge’ and that ConstantContact Shareholders were to get $32.00 in cash per share.

25,786,117 of the  32,213,542 in shares that were eligible to vote were either present or had a proxy at the meeting, meaning over 80% of the stock was represented, over 99% of those in attendance voted in favor of the sell off.

Shareholders also approved the compensation plans for executives which will see Gail Goodman, the Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer of ConstantContact likely to exit the business that she has built since 1999 with some $7.5million in compensation.
